What we collect

BookmarkSOS collects only the data necessary to provide the bookmark management service:

  • Account information: Your email address and name from Google sign-in, used solely for authentication.
  • Bookmark data: Tweet text, author info, images, and metadata that you explicitly save using the extension or dashboard.
  • API key: A randomly generated key stored in your browser's local storage to authenticate the Chrome extension.

What we do not collect

  • We do not track your browsing history.
  • We do not collect data from pages you visit unless you click the save button.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics.
  • We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.

How we store your data

All bookmark data is stored in a Convex PostgreSQL database with row-level security. Each user can only access their own data. API keys are stored server-side and used only for extension authentication.

Chrome extension

The BookmarkSOS Chrome extension uses the following permissions:

  • storage: Stores your API key locally in the browser so the extension can authenticate with your account.
  • activeTab: Reads tweet content on x.com and twitter.com only when you click the save button.
  • Host permissions (x.com, twitter.com): Injects the save button into the tweet action bar.
  • Host permissions (bookmarksos.com): Sends saved tweet data to your BookmarkSOS account.

Data deletion

You can delete individual bookmarks from the dashboard at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
